Emma Kingdon practices in the firm's commercial department and
has experience in mergers and acquisitions work (mainly private equity)
particularly legal due diligence investigations. Emma specialises in
intellectual property law relating to the publishing, media and technology
industries, and also provides general commercial law advice, including equity
and loan financing, in respect of the entertainment, liquor and biotech
industries. Emma is a member of the Cape Law Society. |

Emma started his career as a candidate attorney at Syfret
Godlonton Fuller Moore Inc in 1997. In 1999, Emma was promoted to the position
of associate at Cliffe Dekker Fuller Moore Inc. Emma was promoted to the
position of senior associate in 2000 and appointed as a director in 2001

conclusion of the joint venture known as brandhouse
- Acted for Theratase plc in its purchase of the entire issued
share capital of Seravac Biotech (Pty) Ltd
- Acted for Lonrho plc in its acquisition of a 45% interest in
SA Independent Liners (Pty) Ltd
- Advised on, and drafted, agreements for various commercial
transactions including outsourcing and franchising arrangements
- Acted for Cape Biotech Trust and PlantBio Trust in respect of
numerous equity and loan finance transactions
- Advised in respect of copyright clearances for "Story of an
African Farm"
- Advised in respect of copyright clearances for "uCarmen
eKhayalitsha"
- Advised financiers in respect of loan documentation required
by producers of "The Flood"
- Advised Parmalat (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd in outsourcing
transactions with various information technology vendors.
