Jay-Ann Jacobs practices in the public and regulatory areas of
law in Cliffe Dekker's Corporate and Commercial practice and provides advice to
both private and public sector clients regarding their interaction with each
other. She also advises state owned enterprises on a commercial level in their
interaction with the private sector and also in relation to legislation that
affects them. As part of Cliffe Dekker's regulatory offering, Jay-Ann is also a
Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) specialist and specifically
involved in advising clients (both local and international) on how to comply
with the B-BBEE legislation. Her focus also includes business strategic
planning and restructuring advice for all clients with regard to B-BBEE
Compliance. A large portion of her practice is also in Competition Law and she
assists in Mergers & Acquisitions with regard to filing notifications on
behalf of merging entities to the Competition Commission. |

Jay-Ann started her career as a Candidate Attorney and then
Professional Assistant at the UCT Legal Aid Clinic from 1997 to 1999.
Thereafter she joined Mallinicks initially as an Associate and in 2003 was
appointed as a Senior Associate. In 2004 Jay-Ann joined Jeftha Twala as a
Director and in 2006 Jeftha Twala joined Cliffe Dekker where Jay-Ann became a
member of the board of directors at Cliffe Dekker Inc. |
