Summary Profile
Ridwaan Boda is a member of the Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT)
practice and specialises in IT law, including e-commerce and outsourcing. He
also has extensive experience in commercial, corporate and employment law
across a wide variety of sectors.
Career
Ridwaan began his career as a Candidate Attorney at Vally Chagan and
Associates and moved to Leppan Beech in 2001 where he was promoted to
Associate. He opened his own practice, Ridwaan Boda Attorneys in 2003. In 2004,
Ridwaan held the position of Locum Commercial Solicitor at West Wiltshire
District Council, Trowbridge in the United Kingdom. In 2005, he re-established
his own practice and worked simultaneously as the Group Legal Advisor for
Amalgamated Healthcare Group of Companies. Ridwaan joined Cliffe Dekker as a
Senior Associate in March 2007 and in September 2008 became a Director of
Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr.

Experience
- Advised and acted on behalf of mainly JSE and LSE listed companies in
the mining, engineering, banking, retail and manufacturing sectors
- Advised on public private partnerships (PPP's), tenders and
e-government related issues
- Extensive experience in research and opinion work on a wide variety
of legal subjects
- Drafted various agreements, contracts, policies and procedures
- Employment litigation with an emphasis on retrenchments and
restructurings
- Advised on various areas of the law, such as competition law, joint
ventures, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing and IT law and BEE
transactions
- Advised and assisted clients on the Promotion of Access to
Information Act, 2000
