Ide has extensive experience in the areas of corporate taxes (including
company restructurings), mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions,
and capital gains tax (CGT). He also has a sound knowledge of the financial
services industry (especially insurance), collective investment schemes, and
property industry. He also advises on the structuring of banking and investment
products, share incentive schemes and implements tax advice and solutions in
business and business systems.
Career
Ide began his career at Old Mutual in 1997 where he was involved in the
design and implementation of activity based costing in the Employee Benefits
area. In 2000, he moved to Old Mutual Corporate Tax, specialising in
value-added tax (VAT) and other tax related projects. In 2002, Ide was seconded
to Old Mutual Asset Managers to assist in the development and implementation of
a CGT system, and served in the latter parts as the Project Manager. Ide joined
Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr Tax (Pty) Ltd as a Tax Manager in 2006 and was promoted
to Senior Tax Manager in 2008.
