Petra Krusche is the Regional Practice Head of Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr's
Competition practice in Cape Town. As an expert competition lawyer, Petra has
extensive experience in the litigation, investigation, regulatory and
compliance aspects of competition law.
Career
Petra began her training as a Commercial Litigator with Jan S De
Villiers in 1985 and became a Partner in 1993. Since 1998 Petra has specialised
in all aspects of the practice of competition law. In September 2008, Petra
joined Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr as a Director and Regional Practice Head of
Competition.

- Advice on particular competition problems regarding, for example,
abuses of dominance by firms and other restrictive practices such as resale
price maintenance and merger related advice
- Litigation arising from competition issues, for example, in respect
of an exemption application involving the interplay between restrictive
practices and IP rights and merger related litigation and price fixing
complaints
- Provided guidance and assistance to clients in investigations and
interrogations conducted by the Competition Commission under the Competition
Act pursuant to complaints or upon the Commission's own initiative
- Preparation, lodgment and presentation of merger notifications and
exemption applications
