Our information technology team is the oldest and most experienced legal team of its kind in South Africa. It has been providing specialist legal assistance to technology sector clients since the early 1990's, and now forms part of our wider Telecommunications Media and Technology Unit.

Information Technology is as much about managing cost and risk as it is about the technology that underpins business. Our TMT unit is highly regarded for its expertise in information technology law as it pertains to the financial services industry. From an initial focus on assisting two of South Africa's major banks with their IT legal requirements, there has been a broadening of expertise. Today, our clients are also in the medical, pharmaceutical, oil, media, publishing, transport, telecommunications, insurance, asset management and manufacturing industries, and include vendors of information technology services and products to those industries.

Our IT team is uniquely positioned to assist with the preparation of a full range of information technology specific agreements. These include software and hardware agreements, network agreements, a range of service and contractor agreements, outsourcing and service level agreements. We provide expert advice on intellectual property issues relating to information technology transactions.
